Children in Need 2015

pudseyOn Children in Need day, 13th November 2015, Jake organised a whole school event. His aim was to raise as much money as possible while everyone had fantastic fun.

The first thing was to decide which of his ideas to use! Then he baked delicious bear shaped biscuits and decorated cakes, arranged the wrist bands to be delivered and created fliers for the competitions.

A letter went home to explain that the theme was super-heroes and the main event was a fancy dress competition.

On the Friday loads of people came in incredible fancy dress – making it hard for the judges, but everyone had their photos taken in the hall so that the big decision could be made, then it was back to class for some serious learning and to build up a hunger ready for cakes and biscuits at break!

All through the day Jake sold wrist bands, until the entire box was empty, then he sold all the goodies at break, judged the super-hero masks competition and the fancy dress competition – a very busy day!

Harvey (Y5) and Liam (G1) won the competition to design a super-hero mask!

The judges choice for the overall winner of the super-hero fancy dress competition was Ben W for his outfit as his hero– his mum! He put in an amazing effort even dying his hair and wearing fake nails.

Congratulations to all the pupils and staff for their fund raising efforts and creating an outstanding grand total of £145.37 and very well done to Jake for organising the whole event.al together
